Why it matters

Most of your shoppers leave before they pay.

Some got distracted, some were comparing prices, some hit a surprise at checkout. Many of them still want what they picked — they just need a reminder at the right moment, on a channel they’ll actually see.

Recovering even a small share of those carts is usually the fastest revenue win for a Shopify store: the traffic is already paid for, and the shopper already chose the product.

How it works

Three recovery flows. Every exit point covered.

Uppush watches the whole path to purchase — product page, cart and checkout — and starts the right flow for wherever the shopper dropped off.

  1. Pro

    Stage 01

    Browse abandonment

A subscriber views a product but doesn’t add it to the cart.

Catch interest early, while the product is still on their mind.

  2. Free

    Stage 02

    Abandoned cart

A subscriber adds products to the cart but never starts checkout.

Remind them of the exact items they chose — with an optional discount.

  3. Pro

    Stage 03

    Abandoned checkout

A checkout has been idle for more than 10 minutes.

Your highest-intent shoppers: they already entered their details.

FAQ

Cart recovery questions, answered.

What’s the difference between abandoned cart and abandoned checkout?

Abandoned cart starts when a subscriber adds products to the cart but never begins checkout. Abandoned checkout starts when Shopify records a checkout that has been idle for 10 minutes — the shopper already entered contact or shipping details. Uppush runs both, and the cart flow hands over to the checkout flow automatically.

Does abandoned checkout recovery need my popup?

The email series doesn’t: it uses Shopify’s checkout data, so it reaches shoppers who never subscribed to your popup. Web push reminders, and the abandoned cart flow, need the shopper to be a subscriber.

When are the reminders sent?

By default 20 minutes, 2 hours and 1 day after the shopper leaves. You can change each delay and turn individual steps on or off.

How much does abandoned cart recovery cost?

Abandoned cart recovery is on the Free plan. Abandoned checkout and browse abandonment are on Pro, $12.99 a month with 3,000 emails and 3,000 web push included; above that you pay per message sent, with unlimited subscribers.

Can I offer a discount only to shoppers who didn’t buy?

Yes. Set a discount for the whole flow, or on individual emails in it — for example only on the later reminders, so shoppers who come back after the first nudge buy at full price.
